A workshop to engage with leading Australian pastoral care practitioners and learn about best practice. The session will involve presentations and a video from last year’s SCA National Conference. View presentations on large screens; discuss relevant issues with your colleagues in small groups; become more skilled at writing good documentation in patient records; raise the awareness of the value and the professionalism of pastoral care in your workplace.

This workshop explores numerous issues relating to documentation:

• Why is documenting what we do as chaplain/pastoral carer essential for our
  future, whether we work in an acute tertiary hospital, palliative care, or aged care facility?
• What are the many ways in which good documentation benefits our profession?
• What do the many spiritual assessment tools have to offer us in the context of a multi-cultural, secular society?
• How do we go about documenting what we do in a way that is clear and informative?
